Cable

The unit does not come with a cable. I needed to buy it separately. (this is listed on the sales page) This was the only drawback I found but I quickly added the recommend Hermitshell hard travel case which comes with a fast charger cable to my order.

What I use the power bank for

With long layovers and even longer plane rides I needed a power bank that could handle my needs. I found the Romoss Sense 8P+ and bought it. My main concern when looking for a power bank was my iPhone 8. The company list that the iPhone 8 will charge 12.6 times before the power bank is depleted.

I  frequently travel and wanted a power bank that didn’t need three days to charge. Also, I didn’t want to wait 2 hours for my iPhone 8 to charge. I needed a unit that had fast charge and recharge capabilities. I didn’t realize the full extent of my purchase until I needed to take a 24-hour plane ride. After the first half-hour iPhone 8 charge, I was ecstatic.

Flight

I used the Romoss Sense 8P+ power bank on a 24-hour flight (18 hours in the air with a 6-hour layover) and it recharged my iPhone 8 over and over. 8 times and still had plenty of charges left.

I used the quick charge so I didn’t have a cable plugged into the back of the airplane seat so the person next to me would break my cable when they arose from their seat. (I’ve had that happen before) Also, I spent a short amount of time juggling my phone and power bank on my lap. My phone was completely charged in a half hour and the unit remained cool the whole charge cycle.

The person next to me was even impressed when I pulled the cable from my phone a short time after starting the charge cycle. I’m going to get me one they exclaimed.

Layover

My layover was a long 6 hours but thankfully I didn’t need to hurry to get a spot where I could charge my phone. I had plenty of power thanks to my new power bank. On past flights, I needed to hang around the recharging station so I could plug in when someone gave up their spot. On this trip I could sit anywhere I wanted. When I needed to charge my phone I took out my power bank and plugged in. I kept telling myself how great it was. Charging my phone was no longer a concern.

After reaching my destination I recharged the power bank while I slept and it was fully charged in the morning. The Romoss Sense 8P+ didn’t get hot while charging which impressed me since other devices I own (Macbook) get hot while charging.

My overall thoughts

I felt that my purchase was worth the money. ($50 for a power bank that has several fast charges and fast recharge) The Romoss Sense 8P+ did everything I wanted it to do. I found it easy to use and the number of times the power bank recharged my iPhone 8 was more than enough to cover my 24-hour flight. Thankfully the unit didn’t get hot while fast charging my device.

Recharging the unit was easy and was completed overnight. The unit didn’t get hot while recharging like my other devices.

My only issue is that the unit didn’t come with a charging cable. It would have been simple to add one and raise the price a few dollars but I assume the company had a certain price point in mind.

I look forward to using this power bank for all of my air travel. I recommend this device to my readers.
