All About the Taste

After drinking several different green tea varieties, I visited the local Costco in Tokyo to pick up a few items. An employee was handing out free sample cups of Kirkland Ito En Matcha Blend green tea. I love green tea, so I tried the sample and was impressed with the quality and rich taste.

Research

I researched and found that the Kirkland green tea is grown here in Japan on lush tea plantations. The type of tea is Sencha. The tea is picked, steamed, rolled, then dried.

It’s a matcha style of tea which is known for burning calories. As an American, I can use all the help I can get to help control my weight.

When I drink green tea, it helps control my appetite. I also don’t crave sugar drinks.

Brewing

I boil some water and let it cool for 5 minutes.

After I remove the tea bag wrapper, I put the teabag into a mug.

I pour in the freshly made hot water and move the tea bag back and forth for about 20 seconds. Careful not to burn my fingers.

Removing the teabag, I put in the matcha powder from the wrapper.

In the summertime, I make it with cold water.

Delicious tea

I’m happy that I can purchase my favorite green tea through Japan and American Amazon. The taste is fantastic, and the quality top-notch.

I don’t miss the sugar drinks, and I’ve lost a bunch of weight. It’s helping to turn my health around. I didn’t need to move to Japan to find green tea, but I doubt I would know the health benefits without the move. I now understand why the Japanese people drink so much of it.

I recommend lots of this product to my readers. I drink 4-5 cups a day.

Let me know in the comment section below if you purchased and drink this tea.

  1. I love green tea especially if its made in Japan. I drink green tea when I was in Taiwan but the taste is different from Japan. I would recommend green tea in Japan because of the taste.

    • Always good to hear from another green tea lover. I visited Taiwan a couple of years ago but didn’t try the tea. I have tried different countries green teas through Amazon and found them to be bland and bitter compared to Japan’s green tea’s rich taste.
